In Christianity there is a calendar known as calendar of saints which associates each day with one or more saints and refers to the feast day of said saint. The calendar associates December Six to Saint Nicholas. He is remembered by Catholic and Orthodox Christians for his contribution towards Christianity. He was a man of faith who lived his life in devotion to Christ. Saint Nicholas was a fourth century bishop of the city of Myra in what is now Turkey. He is known for his great kindness and his generous aid to those in distress. Saint Nicholas is very famous amongst sailors, merchants, archers, thieves, children, and students in various countries. He was the only son of wealthy Christian parents. He was very religious from an early age and used to observe fasts on Wednesdays and Fridays. His wealthy parents died in an epidemic while Nicholas was still young and he was raised by his uncle. His influence turned the young Nicholas as a reader, and later as a priest. On Saint Nicho
